Drop-in classes for 2016 at Cornerstone community Centre, First Avenue, Hove BN3 2FL
• Mondays 2.30-3.30pm Gentle Yoga and Relaxation for People with M.E. (all are welcome, even if you don't have M.E. or Chronic Fatigue).
A very gentle class for those coping with M.E. and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or similar conditions such as Fibromyalgia, M.S. cancer recovery. This class is also suitable for people with chronic back problems or anyone who needs a very gentle introduction to yoga, mindfulness and relaxation. Anyone who would like to energise and relax may attend. We use extra thick mats and all blocks & blankets are provided. We practice mindfulness and work with the breath to create calm in the mind and body. This class is one of the longest running classes in Brighton & Hove having been at the cornerstone for over 20 years. It is subsidised through fundraising.
• Wednesdays 10-11.15am. Gentle Yoga for all Ages.
A more general Hatha yoga class suitable for all ages and working with more standing poses than the Monday class. This class is taught at a gentle pace with some short flowing sequences and yoga postures that will help strengthen the core and improve balance and co-ordination. Students learn to move mindfully and use the breath to calm the mind creating a relaxed and meditative state which will also leave you feeling energised at the same time. All classes include some relaxation and often a short meditation and mindfulness practice. It is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience. All mats, blocks & blankets provided.
Cost: £12 or £80 for 10 consecutive classes.
One-to-one and small group yoga:
For those who would prefer to work on their own perhaps initially rather than in a class, for those who want help to develop a home practice, and for groups of friends or couples who want to have their own private class. Please enquire for further details.
